2013 COMMUNITY HEALTH NEEDS ASSESSMENT

Is Mat-Su Healthy? How can we make it the healthiest place in the country?

Mat-Su Health Foundation (MSHF) worked in association with other organizations to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment to identify the major health needs of Mat-Su residents and work with the community to prioritize and address those needs. On September 10, 2013 we published the findings from this assessment report. There was clear consensus in the community that alcohol and drug abuse is the number one health issue we face. The next highest-ranked issue is child and youth abuse and violence. The findings will help guide Mat-Su Health Foundation and Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in collaboration with our community partners and the people of Mat-Su to take steps to make the Mat-Su Borough the healthiest in the country.
