Valley Activities

Mountain Biker
We live in a vibrant, growing community where there’s always something to do. Below are some ways to get active here in the Valley. 

Valley Mountain Bikers and Hikers

Valley Mountain Bikers and Hikers sponsors hikes, bike rides, snowshoes and other active outings in the valley. We are active in building trails and have a couple of projects that offer volunteers a chance to get dirty and do something productive for our community.

Public Swimming Pools

The Palmer Pool and Wasilla Pool offer Lap Swim, Parent & Child Swim, Open Swim, Swim Lessons, Water Aerobics and Swim Clubs.

Wasilla Multi-Use Sports Complex

The Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Center offers public skating, a running track, and turf for tots.

Mat-Su Trails and Parks foundation

The Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation funds and supports quality trails and parks in the Mat-Su Borough to encourage outdoor recreational opportunities.

Brett Memorial Ice Arena

The Brett Memorial Ice Ice Arena offers public ice skating.

MTA Events Center Ice

The MTA Events Center in Palmer offers public ice skating and a walking track.

Valley Women's Running Team

This team meets every Tuesday and Thursday mid-March through September at various locations around the Valley. Runners of all abilities are welcome. For more information contact Rhonda Knopp at (907) 373-3975.

Wasilla Lake

Wasilla Lake has lighted outdoor ice skating.

Matanuska-Susitna Trails
