Megan is currently enrolled at Frontier Nursing University in the Certified Nurse Midwife program. She says, “From the time I started nursing school, I knew my goal was to empower women during one of the most intense and most often happiest times in their life – labor and delivery.” Megan’s career in nursing was clear to her. As a labor nurse, she witnessed firsthand the role of a certified nurse midwife and knew that would be her one day. After completing her master’s degree, she plans to fulfill her dream of being a certified nurse midwife and continue to empower and encourage women.

Her best study tip is to stay organized. “Plan your study sessions into your day from the start of each term. I also encourage students to still live life. Continue to do the things you love, all the while pursuing your dreams.” Outside of school, she spends a lot of time with her children, as well as travelling and reading.

“The MSHF scholarship has given my family and I a sense of relief not having to worry about finances in regards to my education,” Megan says, “This not only allows me to focus more on my schooling, but also just gives a sense of relief overall.”
