Workforce Recruitment and Retention

The State of Alaska’s SHARP program was created to help graduating health professionals pay off part of their student loan. This is also a tool used by health care employers to recruit, retain, and train health care workers in Alaska. The Mat-Su Health Foundation provides funding for this program for eight behavioral health positions in the Mat-Su: two counselors, three social workers, and three nurse practitioners.
