Professional Development & Training Scholarships

We can assist with conferences related to leadership and professional development.

Our Professional Development & Training Scholarships help pay for capacity-building training programs or conference attendance for executive directors, board members, and staff in Mat-Su nonprofits, governmental and tribal organizations, community councils, and faith-based organizations.

MSHF scholarships can assist with conferences related to leadership and professional development. Below are some local professional developments we fund:

  • Certificates: Certificate in Non-Profit Management (The Foraker Group)
  • Conferences: Foraker Leadership Summit, National or State Conferences
  • Trainings: Triple Impact Leadership Program, Foraker Group Trainings, Other Professional Development Trainings

When should I apply?

The application is due once you have registered for the certificate, conference, or training program. Multiple staff members can apply under one scholarship application. Certificates are also eligible for vocational scholarships. Please contact us at scholarships@healthymatsu.org to discuss which option is best for your needs.

Who is eligible to apply for professional development and training scholarships?

Executive directors, board members, and staff in Mat-Su nonprofits, governmental and tribal organizations, community councils, and faith-based organizations who live and work in the Mat-Su Valley.

How much is the scholarship?

Up to $5,000. We will consider training or conference costs, travel and lodging. We will not cover car rental costs or per diem.

Does my employer need to support my professional development?

Yes, some programs may require a co-pay, which must be paid by the attendee’s employer/organization. The co-pay varies depending on the training program or conference.

When will I be notified if awarded?

The application process can take up to 60 days for the complete review, decision, and approval process. Please check your email as sometimes we need to clarify information which may delay this timeline.

How are funds distributed?

Scholarship funds are paid directly to the applicant’s employer/organization.
