We offer Vocation, Academic and Professional Development & Training Scholarships.

Scholarship Types

Click on one of our three scholarship options below to learn more about them and how to apply.

Academic Scholarships

For diplomas or degrees (associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral) in health or human services at accredited post-secondary institutions.

Vocational Scholarships

For short-term training (a few months to less than two years) in health or human services careers (e.g., CNA, Addiction Counselor, Medical Billing, and Post-Graduate Certificates).

Professional Development & Training Scholarships

These help pay for capacity-building training programs or conference attendance for executive directors, board members, and staff in Mat-Su nonprofits, governmental and tribal organizations, community councils, and faith-based organizations.

Eligibility and requirements

Who is eligible to apply for academic or vocational scholarships?
  • Must be a Mat-Su Borough resident for at least one year.
  • If attending school out of state, you must remain eligible for the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend and have Mat-Su voting registration, AK license, or AK ID, showing your Mat-Su residency.
  • Must be applying to or enrolled in a health or human services program.
Who is eligible to apply for professional development & training scholarships?
  • Executive directors, board members, and staff in Mat-Su nonprofits, governmental and tribal organizations, community councils, and faith-based organizations who live and work in the Mat-Su Valley.
Who is not eligible to apply?
  • Mat-Su Health Foundation Board of Directors
  • Mat-Su Health Foundation Executive Leadership staff, and program staff who participate in vetting or evaluation of scholarship applications, and their family* members
  • Mat-Su Regional Medical Center Board of Directors

*Family members of a disqualified person include a disqualified person’s spouse, brothers and sisters (whether by whole or half-blood), spouses of brothers or sisters (whether by whole or half-blood) and their children by whole or half blood or by adoption, ancestors, children (including a legally adopted child), grandchildren, great grandchildren, and spouses of children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren (whether by whole or half-blood).
