Mat-Su Experiment Farm Conservation/Trail Easement Project Phase I project. This project intends to secure a conservation easement on a portion of the Matanuska Experiment Farm targeted for a gravel pit by the University of Alaska. It will also attempt to secure a trail access easement for public access on existing roads and trails within the Matanuska Experiment Farm property. Lastly it will pursue funding through the Forest Legacy Program to expand the conservation easement and trail easement scope to include additional property in the Matanuska Greenbelt.
PURPOSE:
