Mat-Su Health Foundation (MSHF) offers two types of postsecondary scholarships to residents of the Mat-Su Borough pursuing careers in health or human services. Academic scholarships help reduce the cost of higher education for students earning a two-year or four-year degree. Examples include a diploma, an associate, bachelor, master, or doctorate at an accredited college or university. The scholarship application is open once a year in January.
Open year-round, MSHF Vocational scholarships help pay for training and certificate programs in health and human services fields. Certificate programs typically take a few months to a year, allowing quicker workforce entry and supporting career advancement. Examples include Certified Nurse Aide, Emergency Medical Technician, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Medical Billing and Coding, and more.
If you are unsure which scholarship application to submit, email scholarships@healthymatsu.org.
We also offer Professional development scholarships for executive directors, board members, and staff in Mat-Su nonprofits, governmental and tribal organizations, community councils, and faith-based organizations. These scholarships help pay for capacity-building training programs or conference attendance. For questions or more information, email scholarships@healthymatsu.org.
