We hold regular focus groups about specific programs and health issues, so we can hear and respond to the many perspectives in Mat-Su. We also conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment every three years, to develop a holistic understanding of health needs across our borough.

We provide reports, assessments, and additional data to community partners to help them harness a deeper understanding of the specific areas and issues they are working to address. Through our collaboration with these organizations, we’re able to answer specific questions and work to support their evaluation to meet reporting requirements.

Community Health Needs Assessment

Every three years, MSHF in partnership with Mat-Su Regional Medical Center embarks on our Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). Throughout the CHNA process, our team works with community organizations to collect population health data and perspectives from across our borough. The information collected through this assessment helps to guide community health improvement priorities in Mat-Su, for Mat-Su. We invite you to check out our 2025 CHNA and read what Mat-Su residents said about their health and life circumstances.
