Mat-Su Health Foundation offers sponsorships of up to $2,500 to local community organizations for events related to health and wellness that benefit residents of the Mat-Su. Funding may be approved for the following:
- Events that raise funds for health/wellness-focused organizations.
- Events that promote health, wellness, or positive social connection for Mat-Su residents.
Sponsorship Application Timeline
Intake
1-2 days
Upon receiving a sponsorship request, we will check initial event qualifications and assign the application for further review.
Review
Up to 45 days
During the review process, our team will review additional eligibility criteria and draft a recommendation.
Decision
Between 5-7 days
Once a decision recommendation has been drafted by our review team, your application will undergo a final decision review.
Processing
Between 5-7 days
We will notify you of the decision and any next steps. If sponsorship is approved, we will begin processing a payment request.
Payment
Between 30-45 days
Once initial processing is complete, we will send your payment request to our accounts payable vendor, Stampli, for payment processing and delivery.
Criteria
Sponsorship applications are evaluated against several criteria. These criteria help ensure MSHF establishes sponsorship relationships that benefit the partnering organization, the community, and the foundation. Applications are evaluated for:
- Community benefit
- Potential for long-term, sustainable partnerships
- Measurable, positive outcomes
- The organization’s demonstrated experience in running successful events
- Positive exposure consistent with MSHF’s mission, vision, and values
- The opportunity to increase awareness of MSHF and its mission
Note: Requests for financial support of health fairs should be submitted via the Target Wellness grant program.
Exclusions
Sponsorships are not available for the following:
- Individuals.
- For-profit organizations.
- Competitive sporting clubs.
- Sporting events or other school-sanctioned events that occur during school hours. *Some scenarios override exclusion, such as sponsorship of equipment costs and personnel. For more information, read our school funding procedures.
- Events focused on supporting candidates for political or appointed office.
- Events or organizations that discriminate against persons by reason of race, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation/identity, national origin, or political orientation
- Events that fund the operations and services of Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
- Faith-based events for non-secular purposes.
- Events that benefit private clubs, fraternities, or sororities.
- Events sponsored by the alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarette, vaping, or marijuana industries.
How to apply
Please make sure you have thoroughly reviewed all the criteria and exclusions before applying. Applications should address the listed criteria and describe how the event benefits the Mat-Su community, related focus areas, and the health and wellness of residents.
